Terms

Last updated 31 October 2026

These terms govern the use of Pakiza by customers, drivers and business accounts in Tanzania. By creating an account or booking a delivery, you agree to them.

The Pakiza marketplace

Pakiza connects customers who need goods moved with independent drivers and vehicle operators. Pakiza is not the carrier. The driver is responsible for the safe transport of the cargo.

Availability depends on the launch zone, vehicle class and live supply. A quote is an offer to book, not a guarantee that a driver will accept.

Accounts

  • You must provide accurate account and contact details.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your device and OTP secure.
  • Drivers must complete verification before accepting trips.
  • We may suspend an account for fraud, abuse, unsafe behaviour or a legal requirement.

Quotes and bookings

  • The price shown before you confirm is the price for the route, vehicle and cargo declared.
  • Additional waiting, extra stops, incorrect cargo details or a route change may change the final amount.
  • You must not declare a heavier, larger or prohibited load to obtain a lower price.
  • The receiver must be available at the drop-off or an alternative arrangement must be agreed in the app.

Payments and refunds

Mobile money, card and Selcom Pesa payments are processed through Selcom. Cash orders are payable on delivery. Refunds are reviewed by Finance and returned through the original channel where possible.

Amounts are in whole Tanzanian shillings. Provider fees and refund rules may apply.

Cancellations

You may cancel before a driver is assigned at no charge. After assignment, a cancellation fee may apply to cover the driver's travel. Repeated late cancellations may affect account access.

Driver terms

  • Maintain a valid licence, insurance, registration and roadworthy vehicle.
  • Follow the pickup and drop-off instructions and handle cargo with reasonable care.
  • Do not share customer contact details or use them outside the trip.
  • Report accidents, damage, route deviations and safety concerns immediately.
  • Payouts are released after delivery and any required checks.

Business accounts

Business accounts may book for multiple users and receive monthly invoices. The account owner is responsible for users, bookings and payment. Business data is scoped to the account and enforced by the API.

Prohibited cargo

You may not use Pakiza for illegal goods, weapons, hazardous materials, live animals outside an approved service, cash or valuables without a declared insurance arrangement. We may refuse or stop a trip that breaches these rules.

Liability

Pakiza is responsible for the marketplace, matching, payment coordination and support. The driver is responsible for the cargo while it is in their care. Cargo insurance is available for eligible loads and is subject to its own terms.

We are not liable for indirect losses, missed opportunities or delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Disputes and law

Contact support first so we can investigate. These terms are governed by the laws of Tanzania. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot be waived by law.
